Mandatory Payouts at Pimlico on Memorial Day
The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on days when a mandatory payout is scheduled the entire pool is shared by those holding tickets with the most winners.
Last Thursday, one lucky bettor hit a life-changing 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot of $185,957.24 from a $420 investment purchased through the Xpressbet wagering platform’s Oregon hub.
Also on Preakness weekend, Hall of Fame horseman Steve Asmussen earned a $50,000 bonus from a total pool of $100,000 offered to trainers who run a minimum of five horses in the 15 stakes races over Preakness weekend. Asmussen totaled 38 points while trainer Mark Casse finished 2nd with 33 points to earn $25,000. Points were accumulated for finishing first (10 points), second (seven), third, (five), fourth (three) and having a starter (one) in the selected stakes races.
